“When in doubt, get out” is my mantra. It has never lead me astray.

Having an injury that keeps us from doing what we love in the great outdoors can be agonizing. I’ve been there. I get it.

Often an injury forces us to slow down and find different ways to indulge in the natural world. It invites a new level of appreciation. It forces us to be still and drink in our surroundings as we rebuild our physical capabilities.

I am here to help you rebuild. And as we walk your rehab road, you may find your coming back stronger than ever.

If this sounds right for you, connect with me through the link in bio or DM! Until then it’s time to get out and get some green!

This past week I had the unbelievable privilege to attend the Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium in Squamish, BC!

It is going to take me weeks to unpack all the knowledge shared with us by these giants in climbing medicine. It is rare to find a conference where every single speaker is not only informative but deeply entertaining. I was riveted the entire time!

Profound thanks to:
💪 “One move too many” was one of the first books in my climbing rehab library. Deep thanks for ACT too!
💪 called on us to be aware of the issues and injuries specific to youth climbers
💪 is a powerhouse PT that blew my mind with her rehab insights
💪 .elsheikh spearheaded this event AND presented on epiphyseal fracture management 🤩
💪 Dr. Herb Von Schroeder gave quite literally the best presentation on climbing injuries of the wrists that I’ve ever seen
💪 contribution to climbing rehab through his book “Climb Injury-free”, courses and mass volume of digestible content has shaped how I treat. He never disappoints
💪 Dr. Marietta Buse, delved into prolotherapy as a viable adjunct treatment AND helped organize this event
💪 Dr. Steven Roy, a Calgary-based Dr, presented on cancer-related considerations with climbing
💪 got me really excited about how ultrasound can inform our practice
💪 blew my mind with his insights on how to enhance climbing performance. I can’t wait to read “Climbology” and incorporate his concepts into my practice
💪 .strong Steve Bechtel revolutionized how I see strength progression and training in a very entertaining way 😉
💪 Tyler Nelson completely debunked hangboard training (spoiler alert: not as beneficial as we may have thought)
💪 Eric Horst book “Training For Climbing” shapes how we all train for this sport

It’s been a stellar week of 🏕️ 🧗 🏊‍♀️ 🚵‍♀️ 🥾 I can’t wait to come home and share all I’ve learned with the community! See you tomorrow!

I recently had the great privilege to take a multipitch refresher course with .weeks . I was blown away by her organization, ability to communicate and teach complex skills, and to create the opportunities to “fail” safely so we could learn from our mistakes. She followed up the practical, on-the-rock course with an impeccably designed reference manual to review all the material from the day.

I have been multipitching for years but one day in the mountains with Shy taught me how to do things more safely, more efficiently, and how to confidently navigate the “oh s*!t” situations that inevitably arise. She leveled-up my climbing for sure! Stellar experience and 100% worth it
