Kneading Balance Massage Therapy
11/22/2022
It is hard to believe that in just over a month we will be saying goodbye to 2022. The last month of the year always seems to be the busiest. Sometimes we get lost in the seasons and we forget taking care of ourselves.
So this holiday season remember to:
✔️ Unclench your jaw,
✔️ Relax your shoulders
✔️ Take a nice deep breath
✔️ Book yourself a massage 💆
I still have some available in December so make sure you book in soon.

When a Client comes in for a massage the first thing I ask them is why they came in that day. Usually people will start with telling me things like their neck or back is sore and will usually finish with saying ….and I need to relax.
Massage is an excellent way to help people relax as well as help with overall physical and physiological health.
Stress is more prevalent now then ever before. The pandemic has increased the stress is everyone’s lives. Stress can cause muscle tension, headaches and sleeping problem. Massage helps to reduce stress by lowering your heart rate, relaxing your muscles and releasing endorphins. Massage promotes relaxation which can help lower your heart rate. Studies have shown taking even a few moments to relax can help a person better manage stress.
More and more Canadians are struggling with anxiety then ever before. Massage is a great tool to help manage the symptoms of anxiety. Massage therapy has been shown to elevate the neurotransmitter associated with lowering anxiety and it can decrease the hormones associated with increasing anxiety.
For many who struggling with depression the first step they may seek out is psychotherapy which is an excellent place to start. More studies are coming out saying that combining psychotherapy and massage therapy can be affective in alleviating symptoms associated depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder. Massage can improve mood and reduce depression in people living with chronic pain as well as pregnant women and cancer patients. Massage is also shown to help reset circadian rhythms which can improve moods and increase energy in people who struggled with Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Massage is not the answer or the cure for any mental health struggles someone may have but it is an excellent tool to help manage symptoms. If you are struggling with mental health reach out to your family doctor first and remember to be kind to yourself.
Self care is not just reactive it is preventative.
