November 11 is Remembrance Day, a day when Canadians remember the soldiers who fought for Canada and freedoms around the world. In 1918, Canadian soldiers fought a memorable battle at Vimy Ridge in France. It was the first time soldiers from all across Canada fought together.

Like the rest of Canada, British Columbia has varying climates across the province from Vancouver's moderate oceanic climate, with LOTS of rain, but not a lot of snow, to Kelowna with hot dry summers, and Whistler known for the mountains and skiing. This diversity also extends to a melting pot of cultures, with the greater Vancouver area boasting some of the best food in Canada.

British Columbia is home to the largest concentration of Spirit Bears in the world. Spirit Bears are a rare breed of black bears, with a mutation that turns the fur white. These bears play a significant role in traditions of the indigenous peoples of the area.
