If your holiday to-do list looks anything like mine, it probably started with “Buy presents” and somehow turned into “Be present.”

This season tends to get loud, busy, and a tiny bit chaotic (looking at you, gift wrap avalanche). But every year I’m reminded that the best parts aren’t the things we perfectly plan — it’s the memories that sneak in between.

So here’s your permission slip to:
🎄 Swap “matching ornaments” for moments with your people
🎄 Replace “make cookies” with making memories
🎄 Send good vibes to the ones who truly need them
🎄 And remember that what actually matters is probably already happening right at home. If this list hit a little too close to home… same.

What’s one thing you’re simplifying or letting go of this holiday season?

Matching PJs the kids pretend they’ve outgrown, snowy dog walks, and Christmas concerts that get shorter every year as they get older… but I’m still clinging to every tradition I can. (I'm even still hiding the elf!)

What traditions are you keeping alive this year?

The short answer is yes. This is called dual agency or transaction brokerage, and it’s allowed here in Alberta.

In this setup, I act as a neutral guide. I help both parties with the process and paperwork, but I don’t provide strategic advice to either side. It’s designed to keep things fair, clear, and transparent. This option works best when the deal is straightforward and everyone wants a smooth transaction.

And of course—having separate representation is always an option too.
