MacDowell Rugby Academy operated by Amplify Sports Group Conclude Partnership

Calgary, Alberta – September 13, 2025 – Amplify Sports Group announces the conclusion of their partnership with MacDowell Rugby Academy, which began in October 2024.

Not to worry!! New name, same development, same unparallel coaching. The academy program that was formed to support youth rugby development in Alberta, an academy aimed to empower young athletes both on and off the field—helping them pursue opportunities at the post-secondary, representative, and national levels, will still go ahead on time, as scheduled. Over the past year, through the academy program, athletes saw significant achievements, including 5 athletes receiving U Sports offers, 12 earning representative rugby selections, and 6 participating in international tours. These achievements in such a short period of time only solidifies the quality leadership, athlete development and commitment to filling a much-needed development gap in Alberta rugby that Amplify provides.

While it’s unfortunate that our partnership ends less than 30 days before the start of the academy season, we remain committed to the future and deeply committed to Alberta’s athletes. We will continue forward and are proud to announce the inaugural season of Amplify Rugby Academy.
