📢 Speaker Spotlight 🔦 - Kate McBride is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Sexual Health Rehab Program, Vancouver, BC, with over 30 years' experience in clinical care (neuro-medicine & rehab), education, research, program, and policy development. Adjunct Professor in the School of Nursing at UBC and former President of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, she is most proud of a collaborative initiative in perinatal care for women with SCI and developing guidelines for sexuality and intimacy in care homes in BC.

👏🎤CANNmore 2026 Neuroscience Nursing: Precision, Passion, Purpose is pleased to announce one of our Sponsored plenary speakers!

Dr. Angela Russell completed undergraduate degrees in Nursing and Health Sciences, followed by a Master of Nursing degree and Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner diploma. She practiced as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner for 14 years in clinical neurosciences before pursuing a career in medicine. Dr. Russell completed her medical degree and is now in her 5th year of the Adult Neurology Residency Program at the University of Calgary.

She has a longstanding passion for neurology, neuromuscular medicine, and multidisciplinary care, and has contributed meaningfully to both medicine and nursing in various clinical, academic, research and leadership roles throughout her career. She will be completing the Clinical Neuromuscular and EMG Fellowship Program at the University of Calgary beginning in July.

📣Currently CANN VP/Secretary, we are pleased to introduce Hayley Lane as our next Speaker Spotlight 🔦!
Hayley Lane obtained her BScN through the University of Calgary in 2008. She completed Masters of Nursing in Advance Practice Leadership through the University of Victoria focusing on the experience of moral distress in neuroscience nursing. She has been an acute Neuro CNE in Calgary since 2014. She has been an active member of CANN since 2013, assumed the role of Alberta South Councilor in 2022, and Vice President of CANN in 2025.
