The gut and brain are inextricably interconnected. While we absolutely need to raise awareness and talk more about youth mental health - we should also talk about solutions. This isn’t a hopeless situation. There are SO many reasons to believe there is HOPE and that each of us can make a difference. Simple, safe strategies like: sleep, choose healthy food more often, spend more time outside, exercise, reduce screen time … all of these can add up and improve health and mental well-being. There are many ways to influence gut health and doing so will improve brain health as well.
