I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and some of them stay with you for the strange twistedness of the reason for murder. (Trigger ahead: mention of a gruesome murder)

A 20 year old student, Shelly, in Dallas, TX, was killed in her university off-campus residence while sleeping in her bed in her apartment in 2009. She was stabbed 47 times in the back and laid in a pool of blood still in her bed when she was found. There was no sign of forced entry. The killer? The girl’s 20 year old boyfriend’s (Nathan) 26 year old roommate (Daniel) who was jealous and full of murderous rage (enough to plan and execute a murder) that Shelly was taking Nathan away from him, and Nathan was not spending enough time with him any more.
