The Perfectly Imperfects' Spotlight: Richard Hehr

I have always loved to sing. On Sunday mornings growing up, my father would rise early, make a pot of Nabob, light up a smoke, and begin to sing. I would soon join him. He started with gospel songs, such as “How Great Thou Art,” and then came golden oldies, like, “Down By the Riverside.” Dad was a WW2 vet. So, we would do some songs he had learned while stationed in Halifax. His favorite was, “Someday I’m Going to Murder the Buglar.” We would close with Irish tunes, such as “An Irish Lullaby.” I will never sing with my father again. But through some kind of magic, whenever I meet with Alison and the rest of the Perfectly Imperfects, I am taken back to those wonderful Sunday mornings, and I feel good.
