Did you know the history of the Millcroft Inn and Spa goes back to 1881?
Built in 1881 along the edge of the millpond, the Alton Knitting Mill was once the absolute heartbeat of small-town Ontario. This cornerstone of the community powered the Caledon area’s early growth and kept families warm across the province for decades.
The looms went quiet, and operations ceased in 1965, but the building’s spectacular, hand-hewn limestone structure and picturesque riverside setting ensured it would never be forgotten.
