June 21st, 2026 is the 30th National Indigenous Peoples Day. It's a time to recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

In honour of the 30th NIPD, we are highlighting the Indigenous peoples effort to revitalize and sustain their languages. In 2019, the Indigenous Language Act was established to protect the 70 distinct languages and 12 separate language categories, in Canada.

Halfway through Men's Health Month, we are reminded that times have changed. Let's continue to break the stigma and bring up conversations on men's mental, social and physical well-being. Whether it's at home, in your workplaces or communities, seeking out support is a strength that gets easier with time.

À mi-parcours du mois de la santé des hommes, nous prenons conscience que les temps ont changé. Continuons à briser le tabou et à engager le dialogue sur le bien-être mental, social et physique des hommes. Que ce soit à la maison, sur votre lieu de travail ou au sein de votre communauté, demander de l’aide est une force qui devient plus facile à mobiliser avec le temps.

Another year, another successful fishing derby for Unit 53 members in Prince George. Congratulations to Travis Smiley who took first place for the second year in a row, closely followed by Chris Dubuc and Sam Cunningham. This year featured deep fried taquitos, a good time & great company!

Une nouvelle année, un nouveau concours de pêche couronné de succès pour les membres de l'unité 53 à Prince George ! Félicitations à Travis Smiley qui a remporté la première place pour la deuxième année consécutive, suivi de près par Chris Dubuc et Sam Cunningham. Cette année, au programme : des taquitos frits, une belle ambiance et une excellente compagnie.
