The Alliance Program is an overall infusion of the most commonly used recovery tools in practice today. Its development came from a practical working knowledge of each of the following: AA, NA, process addictions, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), SMART and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy). The underlying message is born out of the spiritual concepts encompassed in the Course in Mira
cles and The Master Key System. The course is now coined as ‘CBTwelve’, a practical application of the steps in a spiritual, cognitive approach. Clients at Alliance are introduced to new concepts on a weekly basis which correlate to the “theme of the week” being presented during process group sessions. This approach leads clients to a comprehensive understanding of the core principles encompassed in each step. Participants capture and express not only their thoughts, but the emotions that are generated as a by-product of engrained thought patterns. The 12 Steps are re-framed in a way that allows clients to feel empowered and gain greater awareness of core beliefs. Once individual core beliefs are extracted and brought to the forefront of the client’s awareness, a process of renewal and healing commences. Participants at Alliance and the group facilitator provide clients with a safe, stable, structured environment that provides an ideal forum for discussion and contemplation. Meditative practices are heavily incorporated as a form of self-reflection and decompression. Clients have access to support staff, a trained clinical counselor, external professional therapy and nightly 12 Step meetings.
