Every element of the BCGEU Workers with Disabilities Committee logo was chosen with intention.

The mountain ram stands for perseverance: head down, moving forward no matter what stands in the way. The compass rose is about finding direction through uncertainty. B.C.'s forests and mountains represent the land we live and work on. And the committee name runs bold and proud around the outside.

Nothing about us without us. That's the principle this committee was built on, and it's the spirit behind every choice in this design.

We're proud to launch a dedicated Disability & Accessibility resource page for BCGEU members.

Developed with input from the Workers with Disabilities Committee, this page came out of a convention resolution brought forward by members—and it's been a labour of love ever since.

Workplace accommodations, human rights protections, WCB support and more. All in one place, built to be as accessible as possible.
This is a first step. A living resource, open to feedback and built to grow and evolve with BCGEU members' needs. If you have suggestions or spot a gap, we want to hear from you.

Congratulations to community social services workers for the ratification of their new four-year collective agreement. With 93.1% of members across the constituent unions voting in favour, members will receive annual wage increases of 3%, shift premiums, a retention incentive, and targeted wage adjustments for Indigenous Services workers.✊
