Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. During this season of family it is with great sadness that Paul Moore has passed away after a very short battle with brain cancer.
Paul aka the Crazy Canadian Woodworker traveled the wood show circuit with me for many years.
If you have ever traveled for long periods of time away from your own family you begin to create bonds with the ones close to you on the road. I remember flying to a show many years ago and sitting with Paul on the plane when he told me of a new invention he had thought of and soon after the Flatmaster drum sander was born. Paul's company Stockroom Supply up to that point only sold sandpaper but to thousands of woodworkers across North America he was Sandpaper Paul. Paul's entire family began working the shows including his wife of 32 years Cheryl. Paul and I for many years were the few who drove the wood show tour across Canada and I remember taking some time out with Paul to fish together on the Vedder River in BC.
Paul will be missed by so many of his friends but the thousands of woodworkers who attended Paul's seminars or just chatted with him in his booth will be thinking about his smiling face for years to come.
Paul will be put to rest on December 31 in his hometown of Wainfleet Ontario. As I share my sorrow with his family, I know that your thoughts and prayers will also be with me giving me strength in this difficult time.
I will miss my trade show brother but will be happy to see his family continuing his legacy for many years to come.
I am proud to have called the Crazy Canadian Woodworker my friend.
