This is a big part of what Active Ridge is built on.

Not everyone wants to run a race, climb obstacles, or push through something like a Spartan.

But everyone has something they want their body to be able to do.

For me, this was one of those things.

Completing this race was a reminder that our bodies are capable of a lot, but they also need care, patience, strength, recovery, and consistency along the way.

That is how I think about physiotherapy too.

It is not just about treating pain.

It is about helping people understand their body, trust movement again, and get back to the things that make them feel like themselves.

That might be golf, hiking, training, running, playing with your kids, working comfortably, or simply feeling strong in day-to-day life.

That is what “reach your ridge” means.

Not one specific goal.

Your goal.

Your version of feeling capable, confident, and ready to keep doing the things you love.

Weekend golf plans?

Before you head out for 18, it’s worth spending a few minutes getting your hips and mid-back moving.

Your golf swing relies heavily on rotation. When your hips or thoracic spine feel stiff, your low back often ends up doing more of the work. That can affect how smooth your swing feels, how much power you can create, and how your body feels by the back nine.

A simple pre-round mobility focus:

Hips
Helps with loading, turning, and transferring force through your swing.

Thoracic spine
Helps with backswing rotation, follow-through, and reducing unnecessary stress through the low back.

Try adding a few minutes of:
90/90 hip switches
Thoracic spine openers
Standing hip abduction with a band

This does not need to be complicated. The goal is to help your body feel prepared before you ask it to rotate, walk, swing, and repeat for several hours.
