I haven’t shared on Facebook in so long!
All my previous posts are yoga and it makes me miss teaching and gathering in Brant so much ❤️ Things have definitely changed (new baby, new town) but my interests are still the same, women’s wellness, fertility, traditional & natural ways of healing.
When I took a break from offering yoga classes a little over a year ago I began learning about a traditional self care practice called yoni steaming. It helped me gather a deeper understanding of myself and my cycle prior to conceiving Ezekiel, it then helped me in my healing postpartum.
I’m going to break down what Yoni steaming is incase you’ve never heard of it before.
Yoni is a Sanskrit word that has been interpreted to literally mean the "womb", the "source", the female organs. Yoni steaming is sometimes called V-Steaming, vaginal steaming or peristeaming (perineal). To steam you kneel over a pot or sit on a specially designed stool and you let steam bring circulation and healing to your pelvic organs. You can use plain water to steam or herbal blends made to fit your specific needs.
Yoni steaming has been done for thousands of years all over the world, it’s popularity hit a decline when women weren’t allowed to practice natural healing for fear of being classified a witch.
It’s becoming more popular again as women claim autonomy over themselves and take healing into their own hands again.
If you have painful or irregular periods, if you have consistent irritation (UTI’s, yeast), if you’ve gone through menopause, are healing from birth or trying to conceive yoni steaming may be that extra bit of support you can give yourself.
I am excited to offer 1:1 consultations over the phone- we can pinpoint your needs, talk about your cycle and create a steaming plan. Please reach out to book a consultation [email protected]
I’ll be making a post tomorrow about the yoni steam saunas we have for sale that are handcrafted and so dang beautiful 🌿 if you’re on Instagram check out my stories
Thanks for being here and I can’t wait to connect ❤️ message me with any questions you have or if you just wanna chat!

Very grateful to be one of the students learning from this wise woman 🤍
This first group of hard-working students are giving it their all.
They’re not only learning the knowledge and skills to be a holistic wise-woman companion for birthing families, but also are engaged in the most comprehensive trauma-informed training available specific to birthing families.
They’re learning what it means to offer non-medical support that makes a difference, how to find relevant research and pick the scientific flowers from the weeds, how food and nutrition treat a multitude of pregnancy issues, holistic strategies for recovering from trauma, how to work with complex family dynamics, problem solving at a birth when there’s an unexpected variation, newborn care, new mother care, lactation support, and so much more. This isn’t obstetrics and it’s not modern midwifery. This isn’t that!
Families need more options than either today’s technocratic birth services and their high rates of trauma or going unassisted. A Traditional Birth Companion offers another option (but not the only one 😊).
