Rooted & Vibrant

Today was my first day back at school since I graduated 15 years ago. I’ve decided that to do the deep work I want to be able to do with people, I needed to upgrade my skills.
About 7 months ago, in the middle of the pandemic, I decided it was now or never. I couldn’t waste any more time.
I started researching programs in psychology and therapy. I reached out to old friends and colleagues for references and I got my application together. It all felt so right.
When I found out the the therapist I had been seeing myself had gotten her masters from Guelph, I knew it was where I wanted to go.
Geez, it felt like a long shot but I did it. That phone call back in April offering me a spot in the program was one of the best days of my life. I felt validated. I felt seen and I felt appreciated. I cried tears of joy and was so honored to be invited into the Couple and family therapy program.😭
👩🏼‍💻👩🏼‍💻👩🏼‍💻And now I begin. Online for now, until the university gets everything organized. Eventually it will be in person. Two years of study to become a psychotherapist.
I might be crazy and I might regret taking this on when things get super busy (and the second year students say it will!). BUT I know it is the right next thing for me AND I am damn excited to be back in school!
As for my coaching practice and the work I have done with rooted & vibrant, I am not currently taking on any new clients. My work here will be on hold. I will continue to share my journey as I move through full time schooling as a parent. When I am finished school, I will again have the emotional and mental capacity to again offer coaching…as well as psychotherapy.😊😊
