Water ban has been lifted

WATER BAN LIFTED: Effective immediately, the Township of Springwater has lifted the water ban for the Snow Valley Municipal Water System, which includes the Snow Valley Highlands, Snow Valley Lowlands, and Centre Vespra. This decision comes as a result of cooler temperatures, recent rainfall, and reduced water consumption levels in the area. At this time there are no water bans in effect for the Township of Springwater.

The Township of Springwater will host an informal public information session regarding the Snow Valley Municipal Water System. The information session will take place on Thursday, August 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Township Administration Centre located at 2231 Nursery Road.

Effective immediately water use and Fire ban in effect until further notice

Due to ongoing hot and dry conditions, a water use and fire ban is now in effect across the Township of Springwater. To ensure water conservation for fire suppression efforts, this water ban is necessary and suspends all use of water distributed through a hose or any other attachment.

This includes but is not limited to activities such as:
➡️Filling up of swimming pools, no matter what size
➡️Watering of existing lawns
➡️Watering of trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens
➡️Washing of vehicles
➡️Use of water toys, waterslides and water sprinklers
➡️Washing of paved driveways
➡️Washing of siding and windows
➡️Watering of new lawns (sod or seed)

All outdoor burning is prohibited, and all fire permits are void until the ban is lifted. Please note that this ban includes the use of fireworks in the Township.

This includes but is not limited to activities, such as:
➡️Outdoor fires, including campfires, bonfires, and burning of brush
➡️Setting off fireworks
➡️Use of fire pits or outdoor fireplaces

The water and fire ban are effective immediately and will remain in place until notice is provided via the Township website and social media channels. Public safety remains our top priority, and the Township of Springwater sincerely appreciates your cooperation during this time.
