After 2 years of doing virtual races, we are excited to be back to in-person at the beautiful Barrie waterfront. We are making the most of our comeback with a special RETRO theme to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We will have music and entertainment from different decades all along the route this year, culminating in a big 80s dance party at the finish line. There will be prizes for best RETRO co
stumes for teams in individuals. Pick whatever decade you like and get creative. Just be prepared to party like it’s 1987. Anyone can participate! Rally your friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, or teammates and send them to this site: https://events.barrierotary.com/home/fun-run. It’s easy to register as an individual or a team. When you register, you will get a link to set up a pledge page. It really helps us out if you can post this to social media and ask for pledges from family and friends. It’s been a tough couple of years for fundraising, and 100% of money raised goes right back into our community. Please know we could not do this without the help of our sponsors. This year we are doing an in-person Fun Run and Walk on Wednesday May 25th at 6:30 pm at the Southshore Community Centre on Lakeshore Drive in Barrie. You can sign up for the 5K Walk, a 5K Run or a 10K Run. During the sign up process you select which event you wish to participate in. Registration is $40 and you can also participate in collecting pledges from friends and family. 100% of the money raised from the Rotary Fun Run and Walk goes back into the community. Every little bit helps and we would appreciate your support in trying to hit our target of raising $40,000 this year! We are also doing a Kids event like in the past. Registration for kids is $10 and includes a freezie and ribbon at the end of the ~250 metre race at 6:15 pm. And in the spirit of providing an option for everyone to participate, you can also choose to do the Rotary Fun Run and Walk virtually. When you register, choose the virtual option which tells us you will not show up in person but you will participate in your own way.
