So you're trying to lose some body fat?
Have you figured out your maintenance calories to determine a reasonable deficit? Do you know how much weight per week you should be losing?
These questions are not only imperative to your success but imperative to the sustainability of your plan as well.
This is why I take issue with calorie tracker apps like noom and my fitness pal. Not to say these apps are bad by any means.
In fact I've been using them myself for the past 10 years.
However when most people are setting up their deficit it will ask them how much they want to lose per week?
So they choose 2 lb/week! Why not right?
Most apps won't allow you to drop below 1200 calories but with a loss of 2 lb a week your calories may even drop below that. Especially for women
So you're set at an extremely low calorie count of 1200. Are you going to make progress off of this? 100%.
How long is that really going to last for! 4 weeks? Maybe 6?
The reason you're not successful is not because your metabolism is broken or because you have no willpower. And its certainly not because counting calories "doesn't work"
You're not successful because your deficit is unsustainable! And you're setting unrealistic standards for how much you should be losing.
Want to know the "secrets" to successful fat loss? Maintain a sustainable deficit and a slow rate of loss.
