It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been present on social media. I’ve been spending much of my summer focusing on being present in the moment and actively developing a healthy routine. When I say healthy I don’t necessarily mean salads and exercise - I’m referring more to a healthy mental state.

One thing that has greatly improved my day to day mental state is just a little bit of mindfulness. I try to check in with my thoughts regularly and remind myself to experience the present. I find I am more likely to become negative if I let my mind wander into worrying about the future.

So this is a reminder for you to check in with yourself. Are you thinking about the present? Or are you going over something in the past? Are you spending energy stressing over something that’s going to happen next week? It’s good to have plans and goals but remember that if you’re too fixated on the past or the future you might be missing out on some great things happening right in front of you.
