All this pain has been focused into purpose.
We are so proud to share the soft launch of the Vilomah Conference, a first-of-its-kind, peer-led, full-day conference created for bereaved parents and the people who support them.
Vilomah is a Sanskrit word meaning “out of order”, used to describe a parent who has outlived their child. There is no word in English for that kind of loss, but there should be language, space, and support for the parents who live it every day.
This conference will bring together real conversations, speakers, interactive workshops, wellness spaces, accessible resources, and different pathways to healing and support.
A day for connection, education, remembrance, and community.
Saturday, October 24, 2026
Hilton Garden Inn, Ajax
Tickets go on sale June 13, 2026

Please, do not feel pressure to register - you are welcome to just show up.
When a child dies, our feelings of devastation and pain are overwhelming. Nothing can prepare us, not the death of friends or family or even our own mortality. We expect our children to outlive us, and the shattering of this expectation is unique and complex and is not like any other loss.
