Where We Work: Potash Cleanup

Potash buildup inside silos and vessels isn't just a maintenance issue β€”
it's lost capacity and lost revenue.

IRATA and SPRAT certified rope access technicians descend directly into
silos and vessels, removing potash deposits safely and with minimal
disruption to your operation. Full PPE. Confined space certified to
Alberta OHS standards. Trained specifically for mining environments.

They get your operation back to full capacity, with no shortcuts.

Buildup slows you down. APEX rope access technicians speed you back up.

Goal Zero. Everyone Goes Home.

Your harness can't save you if it doesn't fit. That's not a warning. That's physics.

Every year, workers get hurt, not because their fall protection system failed, but because their harness wasn't checked, wasn't adjusted, or was still in service after taking a fall load. The gear was there. The habit wasn't.

This week's Safety Tip Tuesday breaks down the 3 checks every rope technician, rescue team member, and height worker needs to run before they ever clip in:

πŸ”΄ CHECK THE HARDWARE FIRSTβ€” Buckles, D-rings, stitching, webbing - all of it. A harness that looks fine can hide critical wear. Build a sequence and stick to it. Muscle memory is the difference between a thorough check and a missed one.

πŸ”΄ A LOOSE HARNESS IS A DEATH TRAP β€” Snug is not optional. Leg loops, chest strap, shoulder straps, everyone needs to be dialled in. In a fall, a loose harness can cause severe internal injury even if the system holds. Two fingers under any strap. No more, no less.

πŸ”΄ RETIRE AFTER A FALL. EVERY TIME. β€”Even a short fall can stress components beyond what the eye can see. If it's taken a fall load, it's done. Tag it, pull it, replace it. Don't give it a second chance to fail someone.

Your harness is your last line. Treat it that way.
