They say that silence is golden. And nowhere is that more aptly relevant than in the face of insults and curses from people who try to bring you down. You wield ultimate power when you stay silent when the enemy attacks. Notice how those who are seeking to destroy you get angry, upset and humiliated when you remain silent despite their best efforts? Exodus 14:14 teaches us that "the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” When we try to "set" people straight or follow up on "drama" that people create, we give wings and energy to the enemy's plans. God has a purpose for us all and sometimes when we are fully engaged in fulfilling our divine assignment, the enemy throws a wrench into the mix. How we react to it ultimately determines whether the weapons formed against us will prosper or not. Brothers and sisters, as we go about our daily activities today, let us be mindful that maturity is not just a state of physical dexterity. Grey hairs do not mean maturity. I have learned that maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong, but you just breathe, walk away and let life take care of them. And many times, God gifts you the opportunity to watch the enemy's destruction and smile. A blessed Friday everyone.

We need to be more aware of our surroundings in these evil days as the countdown to eternity approaches the eleventh hour. Not everyone who smiles with you is a friend. Not every meal shared is without an ulterior motive. And not every 'thank you' comes from a heart of love. Jeremiah 20:13 is an approprite reminder this holiday season, that we are to "sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked." This reminds me of a chorus we sing in The Salvation Army, with the lyrics: "I will bless thee Oh Lord. With a heart of thanksgiving, I will bless thee Oh Lord. With my hands lifted up, and my mouth filled with praise. I will bless Thee oh Lord." Are you blessing the Lord in what you say and do? Brothers and sisters, as we go about our daily lives, we need to pay closer attention to what people invite you to and what they leave you out of. Words have meaning; but actions speak louder than the spoken words. Have a blessed Tuesday everyone.
