STOP! 🛑 Before the Good Friday weekend kicks off... 🐣🛶
It’s April, which means it’s Financial Literacy Month! While the Cross Country hype is real and the beach is calling, Peacework Belize wants to make sure you stay so you don’t end up needing a "bailout" by next Tuesday. 💸🇧🇿
With Good Friday only 2 days away, it’s time for a last-minute reality check:
📍 1. Don’t "Go Out of Your Way" to Spend ✋
If you didn’t earmark a "Vacation Fund" this year, don't force it! You don't need to be in San Pedro or Placencia just because of FOMO. A backyard BBQ, a trip to the local river, or watching the big race from the roadside is just as sweet—and way cheaper. Don't create a "rogue expense" that you'll be paying off until June!
📍 2. Ask the Big Question: "Can I Afford This?" 🧐
Before you swipe that card for another round of drinks or a pricey tour, ask yourself: "Is this actually within my means right now?" If it’s not in the budget, it’s okay to say "not this time." True financial freedom is being able to say "no" today so you can say "yes" to your bigger goals tomorrow.
📍 3. Stick to the Budget—No Post-Easter "Bailout"! 🙅♂️
The worst feeling is coming home Monday evening only to realize you have to borrow money just to cover your light bill or groceries. Don’t let a 4-day weekend ruin your 30-day plan. If it's not in the pocket, don't let it leave the socket! 🔌🚫
The goal is Joy, not Debt. Enjoy your hot cross buns, cheer on the cyclists, and keep your wallet solid! 🚲💨
