Successful relocation!

The the last of the water in our now humble hippo pool receding the Department of Wildlife in partnership with Great Plains Conservation have started relocating some of the crocs that reside in front of our little camp to bigger and wider waterways deeper in the Okavango where they can flourish happily and avoid any human wildlife conflict.

The hippos are still around and are seen daily splashing around with the young ones 🦛

JOB OPENING:

CAMP MANAGER

Job duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the camp and restaurant adhering to The Old Bridge Backpackers policies and procedures
- Directly manage staff and ensure that each one is fulfilling their roles and requirements whilst adhering to The Old Bridge Backpackers policies and procedures
- Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the lodge and restaurant, by planning and implementing Strategic
Management Plans.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Liaise with the various HODs to ensure each department is performing at its maximum potential
- Manage daily and weekly reports
- Create financial reports
- Interact with clients and manage bookings and enquiries
- Conduct guest orientation and indemnities

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Tourism, Hospitality or a related field
- Previous work experience as a camp or restaurant manager or a similar role at a lodge, restaurant or camp site
- Food and beverage background and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of the Botswana tourism industry namely the Okavango Delta
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Proficient in Setswana
- Drivers license (PrDP) valid for 3 years or more
- Ability to stay in on-site accomodation
