ncrete roof tiles are manufactured on precision machinery, using extrusion techniques. In this way we are able to produce an incredibly strong product with sharp definition. All major producers of concrete roof tiles around the world use this method. The extruders, which are made in Italy by Vortex Hydra, are designed to produce 40 to 60 tiles per minutes making it possible to produce up to 20 000 tiles per day. Changing the moulds and shaping head on the machine can produce different tile profiles. Our team of well-trained staff is able to produce concrete roof accessories such as ridge tiles and hip starters. At Radstone we are committed to ensure the quality of our product, our tiles are being constantly tested in our laboratories. In Botswana our tiles bear the BOBS standard mark (BOS 24:2009 License no. SM/09-01 for our Profiled Tiles and SM/12-11 for our Flat Tiles). Audits are carried out on a regular basis by BOBS on our products. Currently Radstone is the only manufacturer in Gaborone who manufactures a BOBS certified concrete roof tile. In Namibia our tiles are also being tested by SABS in South Africa and test reports are available.
