This follows the visit of his Bahamian counterpart, Philip Davis, who echoed Masisi's utterances.

According to the duo who are hosting a joint press conference, Botswana will benchmark from Bahamas, on digitizing Botswana's currency.

Should the plans succeed, payments will be done through technological devices such as smartphones et. Cetera, in the place of cash.

Bahamas currently uses a digital currency, dubbed "SandDollar."
