GABCON Hosts Star Academy Students

GABCON recently spent an engaging and enjoyable afternoon with students from Star Academy, who visited the freight village as part of an educational tour. The group, made up of Commerce students had the opportunity to see firsthand how port operations connect to what they learn in the classroom.

During the visit, the students were given a clear overview of GABCON's role as a port and logistics hub. The session covered how goods move from origin (overseas) through the freight village, from arrival and handling to dispatch, and how these processes support international trade.

The team explained the importance of efficient port operations in facilitating imports and exports as well as contributing to economic growth. By linking theory to real world practice, the tour helped students better understand the practical side of Commerce and the vital role logistics plays in the global economy.

The visit ended on a high note, with students asking thoughtful questions and gaining valuable insights into potential career paths within the industry.

The meeting with GABCON Executive Management was to get an appreciation of the company's operations, challenges and future plans.
