‎Chelsea Chakanyuka opened the account for the hosts with a commanding performance, defeating Cameroon's Matila Morelle Ngondge 6-0, 6-1.

‎Ekua Youri followed with an equally emphatic win, dispatching Charnelle Fozo 6-0, 6-1 to put Botswana firmly in control of the tie.

‎The results give the home team an early advantage as they look to progress in the Africa Group III competition.
