Project Nthuse

Project Nthuse is all about building a large community based safety network to help protect ourselves. Recently there has been a rise in crime across the country. There is a rise in house breakings, passion killings, Gender Based Voliolence and law inforcement is overwhelmed. It is now up to us and it is a moral obligation as the community, leaders and other stakeholders to help protect each other.
Project Nthuse will instill the idea in us that we are fully responsible for each others safety as Batswana. To help implement Project Nthuse we have also developed an Emergency Mobile Application called Nthuse which sends out emergency sms alerts to up to 10 pre-selected emergency contacts. With just a push of a button, a user will have up to 10 people coming to their rescue in time of need.
Project Nthuse will help unite the community and keep everybody safe. Have your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours come to your aid while you wait for law enforcement to arrive. Project Nthuse will help keep everyone safe and reduce the high rate of crime. Download and use the mobile application for free and be part of the safety network that will keep you and your loved ones safe.

An abusive relationship—also known as domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or dating abuse—involves one partner attempting to cause physical, s*xual, or psychological harm to the other. This can encompass a wide range of behaviors. For example, s*xual abuse within a relationship refers not just to violent s*xual behavior or forcing someone to have s*x when they don’t want to, but also involving other people in a couple’s s*xual activities when one partner doesn’t want to, ignoring a partner’s feelings regarding s*x, or pressuring someone to dress in a s*xual way.

One in three women worldwide experience physical or s*xual violence, mostly by an intimate partner. Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation, and the immediate and long-term physical, s*xual, and mental consequences for women and girls can be devastating, including death.
Violence negatively affects women’s general well-being and prevents women from fully participating in society. It impacts their families, their community, and the country at large. It has tremendous costs, from greater strains on health care to legal expenses and losses in productivity.
Let's stand together to prevent GBV.

Gender-based violence, already a global crisis before the pandemic, has intensified since the outbreak of COVID-19. Lockdowns and other mobility restrictions have left many women trapped with their abusers, isolated from social contact and support networks. Increased economic precarity has further limited many women’s ability to leave abusive situations. COVID-driven economic and social instability will also heighten the risk of child marriage, female ge***al mutilation and human trafficking. At the same time, the pandemic has exposed women leaders to backlash, leading to threats, abuse and harassment both online and offline. Violence against women leaders can prevent them from carrying out their duties regardless of the position they hold.
