Social media went into a frenzy yesterday after Vee Mampeezy announced that he is opening a new restaurant, Veetros, at Game City. While many netizens celebrated the news, some questioned why Vee’s name did not appear on the C**A documents circulating online.

When contacted for comment, Vee assured this publication that he is the majority shareholder and beneficial owner. “You must understand that I am an artist, and from experience I have run businesses that failed because I did not have the necessary expertise. That is a weakness I have accepted. But if you check on the C**A website, my name appears,” he said.

He explained that to succeed in the restaurant industry and achieve his ambition of opening more branches locally and in neighbouring countries, he had to partner with industry professionals. “To flourish in this business, I brought in experts such as Ashok Sangwan and Jwalant Suri, who own establishments like Capello and Doros, among others. They each hold 25 percent, and I hold 50 percent,” Vee stated.

Regarding the restaurant’s name, Vee said more details will be revealed at the launch. “Let us not reveal everything now. I want Batswana to come in large numbers tomorrow. We will explain how the name came about and everything else, but most importantly, I want them to taste the food,” he said.
