Sugarloaf + Christ the Redeemer are very famous touristic places in Rio de Janeiro, but do you know why Sugar Loaf has this name?
There are many different versions about the origin of Sugarloaf´s name and one of then is that when Portuguese people were exploring sugar cane in Brazil, the sugar was transported to Europe in blocks and those pieces were very similar to the original mountain.
It is so cute when clouds are surrounding the top of the mountain and making it similar to a bread with baker´s sugar. This is also a good reason for its name, don´t you think?

Once in Rio, have you ever passed under a tree with a giant fruit?
Probably yes!
It´s jack fruit, an exotic fruit from Asia that was introduced in Brazil around 1850 when the Forest was replanted.
It´s delicious, you should try it!!! A good opportunity to see and enjoy this fruit is coming with us in Tijuca Forest Tour, you´re gonna love it!
