Safety & Health Day 2026 in Hamburg. 🦺
In beautiful summer weather, our Safety & Health Day took place in Hamburg on June 30th with great participation and many exciting interactive activities!
At numerous stations, our employees had the opportunity to learn, try things out, and actively experience how important safety and health are in everyday work.
Highlights of the day:
- VR experience: Immersive virtual hazard situations
- Forklift course: Educational and fun at the same time
- “Blind spot”: Seeing traffic from a truck driver’s perspective
- A surprising handrail check – fewer germs than expected!
- Healthy nutrition brought to life: valuable insights from presentations and a delicious, well-balanced lunch in the cafeteria
We were especially pleased to welcome Managing Director Andreas Ellerkmann as well as HR Manager Tino Glowczak Plant Manager Dr. Christoph Helling and SWI Director Dr. Florian Grote were also very satisfied with the high level of participation.
💬 Voices from the team:
“The VR experience was a real highlight!”
“Seeing things from the driver’s cabin changed my perspective on traffic.”
“Informative, hands-on – and very well organized!”
✅ Conclusion: A thoroughly successful day that once again showed – safety and health concern all of us. Every day.

320 colleagues. 13 sessions. 1 Sustainability Day. 🌿
Yesterday, we held our fourth Sustainability Day at Den Oven in Boom, Belgium. Chief Sustainability Officer Karl Vrancken set the tone: "It doesn't have to be just about big projects. Small contributions count too."
What followed was an inspiring day of discovery, connection and … action!
Our colleagues made the most of every minute. They unmasked fake news, built insect hotels, explored cellos made from flax fibre composites, and jotted down their ideas for a better tomorrow. Plus, they discovered the projects that make Indaver more sustainable every single day.
We saw smiling faces everywhere. One participant said: “Some topics are immediately applicable to my daily work. Others help broaden our perspective. Besides, it’s a joy to meet our colleagues in a less formal context.”
One thing’s for sure: Sustainability is people's work. And our people showed they’re all for it. 💚

Dagmar Lemmens is our Technical Management Trainee at Indaver Antwerp. ⚙️
As part of Indaver’s rotational trainee programme, she moves between production, maintenance and projects and is currently contributing as a Process Engineer within Inorganic Treatment. “I enjoy combining technical analysis with a practical, hands‑on mindset and collaborating with colleagues from different disciplines,” Dagmar explains.
Much of her day is spent keeping a close eye on the biological wastewater treatment process: analysing trends, fine‑tuning parameters and investigating alarms when they appear. She regularly heads into the field with operators to see firsthand what’s happening on site. Weekly PFAS meetings and close coordination with partners help keep everything running safely. After work, she recharges with walks or runs with her dog, time with friends on a terrace, or by diving into a good book.

Meet Anne van Duivendijk‑Jumelet, our Laboratory Technician in Separation Technologies at Indaver in ’s‑Gravenpolder, the Netherlands. 🧪
From early‑morning sample checks to detailed lab analyses, Anne plays a key role in finding the best way to process our customers’ sludge streams. She weighs samples, analyses their properties and runs simulations of our dewatering installations to see how they perform under real‑life conditions.
“I work with many different sludge types, each of which presents its own challenges. That variety makes my work interesting,” Anne explains.
Throughout the day, Anne works closely with colleagues from Sales and Operations, turning measurements and test results into clear reports. During lunch, she recharges by taking a walk with colleagues. After work, you’ll often find her outdoors walking her dog, rowing, or even taking a winter swim.
