Nigeria’s Telecom Revolution Starts Now — Vitel wireless, the Nation’s First MVNO, launches its services

A proud milestone for Wireless Technology Labs (WTL) and the Nigerian telecom ecosystem, Vitel wireless, Nigeria’s first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), was officially launched on 30th October 2025, powered by WTL’s next-generation Core Network infrastructure.
This achievement marks a significant step toward expanding affordable and intelligent mobile connectivity across Nigeria, bringing advanced 4G and 5G-ready services to millions.

We’re excited to welcome Satya Mekala, a seasoned entrepreneur and Managing Director of Wireless Technology Labs (WTL), as a speaker at MVNO Nigeria 2025.

With over 25 years of leadership in IT and telecoms, Mr. Mekala has driven WTL’s strategic expansion across Africa and beyond. A serial entrepreneur, he has founded successful ventures across multiple sectors, including telecom (Ifoon), IT (Intellinet), brewing (Het Brouwhuis), and chemical testing (Grenova Labs). As the founding MD of WTL, he scaled the company from a startup to $120M valuation.
