More than a hundred Eugeen Van Mieghem-admirers put on their brightest smiles when they gathered at the entrance of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) for a group picture taken by photographer Dirk Kerstens.

On the first row, you may recognise our Deputy COO Ariane Saverys accompanied by Paul Valkeniers (Alfaport Voka), Carmen Willems and Luk Lemmens of KMSKA. We love how Van Mieghem portrayed the hard workers at the docks and the harbour in Antwerp.​

The photo will be part of the new art book EVM Havenleven - Port Life that will be published by Pandora Publishers this month and is sponsored by EXMAR. It features all 226 artworks that were gifted by the EVM-foundation to the museum and the art works from the exposition, opening on 2 October 2026.​

Can you point out some other EXMAR colleagues?

This year, we celebrate 20-years of co-operative partnership between Memorial University Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and EXMAR OFFSHORE COMPANY. Since 2005, over 220 students from MUN have done their placements at EOC, being integrated into project teams and given real responsibility.

One of the students, now a full-time Project Engineer Specialist, testifies it is a rewarding experience for both the intern and employer: “Getting to visit the shipyard where two of our semisubmersible units were being prepared for deployment was eye-opening. It really showed the impact of our work as engineers.”
