Binnen Woonparadijs in de Maak werken we samen met Thrashlinie aan een gloednieuwe podcastaflevering. We duiken dieper in de vragen die ons project bezighoudt. Dit gaat onder andere over wonen, ouder worden, en hoe een thuis eruitziet als je het opnieuw mag kiezen.

How do you hold space for someone else’s trauma?

Tomorrow night at Stadsform, filmmaker and visual artist Eliane Esther Bots explores exactly that through her interactive lecture on listening, ethics, and non-fiction storytelling.

Starting from her artist’s book The Daughters, The Interpreters and The Family, she brings together voices of second-generation Dutch-Bosnian women, interpreters at the Yugoslavia Tribunal, and a family that fled Chechnya. She also screens her award-winning film In Flow of Words, which has been recognised at IDFA, Locarno and the Berlinale.

Don’t forget to bring your smartphone and headphones, you’ll need them for the collective listening experience.

Part of Extra Academy, a collaboration between the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Sint Lucas and the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Open to everyone, no registration needed.
