Global Social Development Organization (GLOBAL) Bangladesh established its first community service project “the Pakulla Community Hospital (PCH) in Pakulla village of Silimpur union under Tangail Upazila of Tangail district. The objectives of the PCH program are to reduce the mortality & morbidity of pregnant mothers and new-born babies, to improve the care during pregnancy and lactating period an
d to provide medical treatment and services to the community on a cost effective and recovery basis with a goal for self sustaining operation over a period of time. The PCH has a qualified M.B.B.S female Doctor, one Nurses, One technical staff Pathological Laboratory, One accountant and 5 administrative support staffs. The PCH has established an effective referral system with the well-equipped hospitals in Tangail and Dhaka to handle the complicated cases. A total of 10-15 outdoor patients & 2-3 indoor patients on average are receiving treatment from the Medical staffs in the clinic each day. The PCH has well equipped pathological laboratory, X-ray facilities & Ultra-sonogram for providing appropriate diagnoses services to the patients. The major activities of PCH includes:
• Management of out door patients
• Management of indoor patients
• Antenatal check up of pregnant mother
• Postnatal check up of mother
• Growth monitoring of under-5 children • Health education
• Pathological services
• X-ray service
• USG service
• Normal vaginal delivery
• Minor surgery
Also with the technical assistance from the country’s leading organization GONOSASTAKANDRA, Global Social Development Organization (GLOBAL) Bangladesh has been conducting health Camps and treatment of eye and other common diseases. In January 2013 a group of social worker under the leadership of Mr. Abdus Salam Miah registered the organization in Social Development office Bangladesh and later on registered the organization as an NGO with the NGO Affairs Bureau in Dhaka, Bangladesh and started to work on Medication of the local people with the support from the Direct Care Foundation in the Netherland. Gradually requesting other donors to include more projects to be under taken. Global Social Development Organization (GLOBAL) a NGO registered as a charity organization in the Bangladesh, It is registered with NGO Affairs Bureau, under the Prime Minister’s Office of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Global Social Development Organization’s (GLOBAL) vision is to promote the improve Health, Nutrition, WatSam, Women Development, food security among the poor and marginalized people including women, children and disabled following the right based and self sustaining approach . Global Social Development Organization’s (GLOBAL)’s mission is to help provide essential services in the remote areas for improved health, economic empowerment of the target groups, capacity building so as to ensure livelihood security of poor disadvantaged people including women, ethnic minorities and disabled people to have their equal access and participation to get benefit from the Social, economic and political lives. Objectives:
• To provide medical, preventive and curative and family planning services as well as health education services to the communities of Global Social Development Organization’s (GLOBAL) Bangladesh program areas.
• To raise awareness of people about laws regarding rights of children and women and provide help in upholding such rights.
• To plan, organize, manage and implement programme and projects in the fields of agriculture and rural development, forestry, fishery, livestock and also innovative technology added higher value added products and services.
• To provide support and training as may be necessary for the social and economic development of the beneficiaries including provisions of micro-credit support to achieve their self-reliance and sustainable development.
• To provide aid and assistance to the people affected by natural calamities and disasters.
• To establish, acquire and operate enterprises for income generation and employment creation of Global Social Development Organization’s (GLOBAL) Bangladesh’s programme beneficiaries.
• To establish, administer and manage endowment, trust funds and other benefactions for the benefit of the people and the organization.
• To provide facilities, to foster and encourage, secure and maintain good and closer relationship and amity in and among communities and peoples of Bangladesh and other countries of the world through education, social and cultural activities.

(GLOBAL) is gradually expanding the geographic coverage of the programs to serve a wider population in a sustainable way and by local participation at all stages of program planning and implementation. The emphasis is gradually shifting toward CBO development and local empowerment for sustainability and continuation of ongoing services. Global Social Development Organization (GLOBAL) progress of work has often been halted by the institutional roadblocks but it has made steady progress through hard work, innovation and pragmatism.
