For answering this question at first we have to know “what is Science, arts, and Statistics?” Then we decide. Here, Science is knowledge of experimentation and observation . Arts is the applied results of Science and application of human creative skill and imagination. On the other hand, In Statistics we apply experimentation and observation then, we make a decision which are applicable in our daily life.
So, Statistics is neither Science nor arts. Rather It is Scientific method which are needed different sector in our life.

** Statistics as a subject was first revealed in 1894 at University College London.

** Karl Pearson founded the first statistics department at the university in 1911.

** Karl Pearson is the founder of the 1st Statistical Journal "Biometrica" in 1901.

**The first book on statistics was written by John Grant in 1676. Titled “Natural and political observations made upon the Bills of Morality”

**The book to have 'statistics' in its title was "Contributions to Vital Statistics" (1845) by Francis GP Neison, actuary to the Medical Invalid and General Life Office

**The first complete book on statistics was written by George Udny Yule in 1911 under the title "Introduction to the Theory of Statistics" which is published by Charles Griffin , London.
