৬১০ সালের রমজান মাসের সেই রাতে যখন প্রথম ওহী নাজিল হয়, তখন নবী মুহাম্মাদ (সা) ছুটে যান স্ত্রী খাদিজা (রা)-র কাছে। খাদিজা (রা) তাঁকে সান্তনা দেন, বলেন, "আল্লাহর কসম, আল্লাহ তোমাকে কখনোই লাঞ্চিত করবেন না..."

খাদিজা (রা) ইসলাম গ্রহণ করলেন। তাঁদের ঘরে বড় হওয়া বালক আলী (রা) মুসলিম হলেন। হলেন আবু বকর (রা)-ও। খাদিজা (রা)-র বিজ্ঞ খ্রিস্টান আত্মীয় ওয়ারাকার সতর্কবাণী শুনে অবাক হলেন নবী (সা), বললেন, "আমার লোকেরা সত্যিই আমাকে বের করে দেবে?" সত্যিই। এতই কমলোক ছিল মুসলিমদের মাঝে। পরে তাদের মক্কা ত্যাগ করে ইয়াসরিব চলে যেতে হলো, ইয়াসরিবের নতুন পরিচয় হলো 'মদিনা', মদিনাতুন-নবী। নবীর শহর।

প্রথম ওহীর প্রায় ২৩ বছর বাদে মক্কার কাছে আরাফার ময়দানে জাবালে রহমতের ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে ভাষণ দিলেন। বিদায় হজ্বের ভাষণ। সেই একজন, দুজন, তিনজন মানুষ দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া মুসলিম সমাজে তখন গোটা আরবের লোক যোগ দিয়েছে। ওইদিন ভাষণের সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন হজ্ব করতে আসা প্রায় এক লাখ চব্বিশ হাজার মানুষ। সেই পাহাড়ের ছবিই দেখা যাচ্ছে, যার চূড়ায় ওই স্তম্ভের ওখানে দাঁড়িয়েই নবী (সা) ভাষণ দিয়েছিলেন।

২০২৬ সালের ৯ জিলহজ্ব হজ্ব উপলক্ষ্যে আরাফার ময়দানে হাজির হয়েছেন সতেরো লক্ষাধিক হাজী (কমেন্টে বিস্তারিত)। সংখ্যাটা নিঃসন্দেহে বহুগুণ বেশি হতো যদি আরও লোকের সংকুলান ব্যবস্থা থাকতো, আর না থাকতো আর্থিক সীমারেখার বাধা।

৬১০ সালের সেই রাতে মক্কার কেউই এ ভবিষ্যৎ চিন্তা করেননি, যখন মুহাম্মাদ (সা) কাতর হয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করেছিলেন, "কে বিশ্বাস করবে আমার কথা? কে-ই বা আমার কাছ থেকে এই বাণী গ্রহণ করবে?"

"আমি! আমি বিশ্বাস করি তোমাকে। আমিই প্রথম তোমার কাছ থেকে এই বাণী গ্রহণ করলাম..." বলেছিলেন স্ত্রী খাদিজা (রা)। [তাবাক্বাত, ইবনে সা'দ]

বহু বছর পর, বিদায় হজ্বের দিন নবী (সা) আকাশের দিকে তর্জনী তুলে জনসমুদ্রকে উদ্দেশ্য করে বললেন, "আমি কি বাণী পৌঁছে দিতে পেরেছি?"

লাখো জনতা সমস্বরে চিৎকার করে জানালো, "জ্বি!"

নবী (সা) তখন তিনবার বললেন, "আল্লাহ, তুমি সাক্ষী থেকো; আল্লাহ, তুমি সাক্ষী থেকো; আল্লাহ, তুমি সাক্ষী থেকো!"
