“The Boy Who Sold 2-Taka Pens at His Father’s Shop… Today 200 People Work at His Company”
Year: 2014. In Daulatpur, Khulna, 17-year-old Shuvo sat at his father’s tiny stationery shop. He had failed HSC, his family was broke, and every day school kids came to haggle over 2-taka pens. While his friends were prepping for university, Shuvo was balancing the cash box.
One day a customer said, “Bro, why don’t you sell pens online? Everyone in Dhaka buys from Daraz.” That line stuck in his head.
He had 3 problems:
1. He didn’t know how to use the internet
2. He only had 7,000 taka as capital
3. He couldn’t speak English, so how would he run a page?
Shuvo didn’t quit. He grabbed Rahat Bhai from the local cyber cafe and in 7 days learned: pages, product photography, and bKash payments. First investment: 7,000 taka for 500 pieces of gel pens at wholesale price.
First post: “Nationwide delivery from Khulna – 12-taka pen for just 10 taka”.
First week orders: 0. Everyone laughed, “Village boy thinks he understands online business?”
On day 8, the first order came – a madrasa teacher from Satkhira ordered 20 pieces. Shuvo personally took the bus and delivered it himself. The happy customer left a Facebook review.
He never looked back after that.
2016: ‘Shuvo Stationery’ page, 50,000 taka monthly sales.
2019: First warehouse in Khulna, 5 employees.
2022: Launched his own brand ‘Likho’ – notebooks, pens, color pencils.
2026: 2 crore taka annual turnover, 200+ employees, delivery to all 64 districts. The HSC-failed Shuvo is now doing his MBA at BUBT.
Shuvo says: “I didn’t have a degree, but I had determination. When a customer says ‘Bhai, good product’, that’s my certificate.”
Lessons:
1. Problems are opportunities: Where others see problems, leaders see business.
2. Start small, dream big: 7,000 taka is enough if you give 700% effort.
3. Customer is king: One good review is stronger than 100 boosts.

CEASEFIRE SHATTERED – ISRAEL LAUNCHES MASSIVE STRIKES ON LEBANON HOURS AFTER TRUCE EXTENSION
"Extended truce? Israel bombs Lebanon just hours after agreeing to 45-day ceasefire – killing paramedics, destroying neighborhoods, and triggering new displacement."
Detailed Report
In a dramatic escalation that has rendered the term "ceasefire" almost meaningless, Israeli warplanes and drones launched a series of intense airstrikes across southern Lebanon on Saturday, May 16, 2026 – merely hours after both nations agreed to extend their fragile truce by 45 days .
The Strikes: What Happened
The Israeli military targeted at least five villages across the Nabatieh, Tyre, and Bint Jbeil districts, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA). The attacks included :
· Harouf Civil Defence Center Strike: The deadliest attack struck a medical facility in the town of Harouf, killing at least six people, including three paramedics, and wounding 22 others. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) issued a sharp condemnation, stating: "We are outraged over the killing of paramedics who were simply doing their job, taking huge risks to save lives" .
· Widespread Bombardment: Israeli warplanes carried out nighttime raids on the towns of Qana, Qleileh, Sultaniyeh, Tebnine, Shhour, and Dbaal. A drone strike targeted a residential apartment in Housh Tyre, setting it ablaze .
· Nabatieh al-Fawqa Destruction: An entire neighborhood was destroyed, including the municipality building and several residential structures .
The "45-Day Extension" – A Paper Promise
Just one day before the attacks, on Friday, May 15, Israel and Lebanon had agreed to extend their April 17 ceasefire by 45 days following two days of US-brokered talks in Washington. State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott announced the extension, stating it would "enable further progress" .
But on the ground, nothing changed. The Israeli military issued evacuation warnings for nine villages before Saturday's strikes – warnings that triggered another wave of displacement as tens of thousands of residents fled north toward Sidon and Beirut .
The Human Toll: Numbers That Tell the Story
Statistic Figure
Total killed in Lebanon since war began (March 2) Over 2,900
Killed since April 17 "ceasefire" took effect Over 400
Injured since March 2 Over 8,800
Displaced Over 1.6 million (20% of Lebanon's population)
Homes damaged or destroyed since truce Over 10,000
Healthcare workers killed Over 100
Children killed (average daily during truce) More than 4 per day

Hezbollah's Response
Hezbollah, which opposes the US-mediated negotiations and has refused to surrender its weapons, claimed responsibility for attacking Israeli troops in the Lebanese town of Khiam on Saturday. The group justified its actions by citing Israeli ceasefire violations and "attacks that targeted villages in southern Lebanon" .
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has previously vowed to turn the battlefield into "hell" for Israeli forces and insists the group's weapons are "an internal Lebanese matter" not up for negotiation .
Civilians: The Real Victims
For displaced Lebanese civilians, the "truce" has become a bitter joke.
"This is not a truce as long as Israeli attacks continue against the south and its people, with deaths, injuries, and destruction," said Ali Salameh, 60, speaking from a school in Beirut where he has been displaced since the war began .
"They destroyed the entire neighborhood. They are emptying the south of its population... it's a real occupation. We want a solution," said Ibrahim Kahwaji, a tailor who was wounded in the leg during a strike near Tyre's ancient ruins .
Why This Matters
The attacks represent a calculated strategy by Israel, which reserves the right under the US-brokered truce terms to act against "planned, imminent or ongoing attacks" – a loophole that has allowed daily strikes to continue . Meanwhile, the US is using the negotiations to pressure Lebanon to forcibly disarm Hezbollah, a demand the militant group has flatly rejected .

The "Energy Crash" Cycle (Afternoon Slump)
3 PM exhaustion, brain fog, and sugar cravings despite sleeping 8 hours.
Solution: The "Protein-First Breakfast" & strategic hydration.
Why you're falling asleep at your desk at 3 PM (it's not lack of sleep). 🥱
James was a classic case. Woke up tired, grabbed a bagel & OJ, slammed a coffee at 10 AM, then CRASHED hard every afternoon. He thought it was "normal."
His doctor revealed the culprit: Reactive Hypoglycemia. His carb-heavy breakfast spiked blood sugar, insulin flooded his system, then his glucose plummeted—taking his energy with it.
Here's the fix that gave James his afternoons back:
✅ The 30-30 Rule (Breakfast): 30g protein + 30g fiber within 1 hour of waking. (Try: 3 eggs + black beans + spinach)
✅ Water before caffeine: 16 oz water immediately upon waking. That sleepy feeling is often mild dehydration.
✅ The 10-Minute Walk: After lunch, sunlight resets your circadian clock and crushes blood sugar spikes.
James switched to a savory protein breakfast. His 3 PM crash vanished by day 4. He's now running circles around his younger coworkers.
Drop a 🍳 if you're skipping breakfast or eating sugar first thing!
