RPVST+:
Rapid PVST+ হল PVST+ এর Update Version,যা RSTP & PVST+ এই দুটি Protocol কে Combine করে RPVST+ Develop করা হয়েছে। RPVST+ Develop করে Cisco। RPVST+ জানার আগে আমাদের জানতে হবে RSTP & PVST+.

RSTP: STP কে Update করে RSTP Develop করা হয়। RSTP Open Standard (IEEE 802.1w) Protocol। এবং STP তুলনায় RSTP Convergence Time অনেক Fast. STP এর ক্ষেত্রে পোর্ট Blocking State এ থাকলে Blocking State থেকে Forwarding State এ আসতে (20+15+15)=50sec সময় লাগবে। RSTP এর ক্ষেত্রে এই 50sec সময় লাগে না। Forwarding State এ আসতে 1sec এর মতো সময় লাগে।
