Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Post-Crash Response Initiatives in Bangladesh

In partnership with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Bangladesh, TraumaLink organized a Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Post-Crash Response Initiatives in Bangladesh on 27 October 2025 at the NCDC Conference Room, DGHS Bhaban, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

During the session, Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink, delivered a presentation showcasing the project’s progress and major milestones. He underscored the significance of community-based emergency response systems and strong inter-agency coordination in minimizing post-crash mortality across the country. The workshop convened representatives from National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, ARK Foundation, BRTA, BYEA, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, Department of Social Service, Mugda Medical College and Hospital, CRP, RHD (Road Safety Department), National Emergency Service (999), Fire Service and Civil Defense, Highway Police Headquarters, and NITOR. Participants shared insights, reviewed current progress, and discussed strategies to further strengthen Bangladesh’s post-crash response framework.

Launch of TraumaLink’s 15 km Service Expansion in Sitakunda, Chattogram

On 23 September 2025, TraumaLink, in partnership with the Rahim Family Foundation, officially launched its 15 km service extension at the Hajera Havan Garden Community Center, Sitakunda, Chattogram. The initiative expands TraumaLink’s coverage along the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway and strengthens community-based emergency response. During the event, newly trained volunteers received vests, ID cards, certificates, and first aid kits as part of their formal induction.

The program welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Altaf Hossain, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Sitakunda; Md. Zakir Rabbani, Officer-in-Charge, Kumira Highway Police Station; Md. Belal Hossain, Senior Station Officer, Fire Service and Civil Defense; Md. Nazrul Islam, Municipal Executive Officer, Sitakunda; Md. Nasir Uddin, President of the Sitakunda Bazar Businessmen Association; Md. Sajjad Hossain (Rafiq), General Secretary, Sitakunda Businessmen Association; and Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink. The event was facilitated by Jubair Mahmud, Area Coordinator, TraumaLink.

The launch saw participation from 80 attendees, including government officials, community leaders, and volunteers, highlighting strong local engagement and commitment to improving road safety and emergency care services.
