It was a great joy and pride day for CDP family. Our volunteers fought over 2.5 years against the Corona virus and won.
FAO organized a knowledge sharing and an appreciation event for the Community Support Team (CST) volunteers. The CST was a multisectoral collaborative initiative supported by USAID, World Bank, FCDO, and Gates Foundation that aimed to reduce the negative health impacts at the community level during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through this multisectoral, multi-partner initiative, over 2.3 million households were supported and reached by 750 CST volunteers with screening of households to identify vulnerable individuals, vaccination registration, cloth mask distribution, and COVID-19 sample collection and testing.
Professor Dr Tahmina Shirin, Director, IEDCR, Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Director, NIPSOM, MOHFW, as well as representatives from donor organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, and volunteer organizations like CDP attended the event to show their appreciation to the many young CST volunteers and doctors who worked diligently in the field during the pandemic.
