Balule Male H1-4 just south of S147 25 August 2023
I took the day off work and entered Orpen around 10 am, meandered down the H1-3 and had a distant visual of pride of lions close to N'wanetsi bridge, then decided to head north in search of leopard and sub-adult cub in the Ngotso area.
About 2 km north of S127 I found a lone lioness watching zebra in the heat of the day, then continued on and found two flat male lions just south of Ngotso South Waterhole.
Decided to carry on North and saw a little traffic jam ahead - always gets the blood pumping and assumed my leopard lady was the subject of the commotion, but when I got closer I saw a large male following a lioness and all the cars were slowly moving forward with the lions. Thank heavens they decided to leave the road so I took the opportunity to navigate through the cars, then turned around and waited for the pair to hopefully again come back to the tar road ....
