Chittagong Naval Workers' Assembly and Rally held on the initiative of the Shipworkers Federation to establish workers' rights on May Day

On the occasion of the 141st International Workers' Day, Bangladesh Shipworkers Federation Reg. No. B-2143; Chittagong Divisional Committee, at Majhirghat intersection in Chittagong, with the aim of ensuring employment certificates, identity cards, safe workplaces, social security and fair wages for all levels of workers and employees,A workers' rally and rally was held at Majhirghat intersection in the city at 3 pm under the initiative of Chittagong Lighterage Workers Union, Bangladesh Waterway Workers and Workers Union Reg. No. B 2148 Chittagong District Branch and Patenga Thana Branch.The chief guests at the workers' gathering and rally were Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Liberation Struggle and Liberation War Research Center, and Mohammad Shahabuddin Ahmed, Commander of the Chittagong Metropolitan Freedom Fighters' Association. The speakers at the event demanded the formation of a separate task force with workers' representatives in the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Labor to protect the rights of workers.The workers' rally was presided over by Bangladesh Shipping Workers Federation, Chittagong Divisional Committee President and prominent labor leader M. Nurul Huda Chowdhury.Present at the rally were Akhtar Jamal Master, Joint General Secretary of the Chittagong Lighters Workers Union, Azgar Hossain Talukder, Vice President of the Federation, Rashid Ahmed Master, Sajjad Hossain Johnny, Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury Master, Md. Joynal Abedin (Supervisor), Ali Akkas, Iftekhar Hossain, Raju, Mohammad Selim, Helal, Khalilur Rahman Tipu, Mohammad Hasan Badsha, Md. Nurul Islam Johnny, Shahajahan, Sanjit Debnath, District Committee General Md. Alauddin, Idris, Md. Azamgir,Hafez Mohammad Ismail, Md. Sekandar, Md. Nezam, Md. Raihan, Md. Badsha, Md. Irfan and others.
