The list of Competent Persons (i.e. a person appointed by the Government of Barbados) for the examination of lifting equipment can be obtained from the Ministry of Labour.
Statutory Maintenance in Barbados
Lifts (e.g. elevators), cranes and hoists should be inspected annually by a person appointed by the Government of Barbados ('Competent Person) according to the Safety and Health at Work (SHAW) Act Cap. 356 Sections 20,21, 23 and 24.
