The "Yana" Series
Yana is a name rooted in grace. In the last 20 years, I have drawn this archetype a few times, hairless, minimalist, and stripped of temporary facial details. By removing these, the figures cease to belong to a specific moment in time; they belong to eternity.
To me, true growth requires a relentless push forward, demanding that we constantly reinvent ourselves and exceed our own expectations in creativity. I refuse to get comfortable, and I refuse to repeat the same art concepts. Every single art piece is a self-inflicted challenge to set the bar higher.
With this latest series, I wanted to step into entirely new territory. I challenged myself to build surrealistic concepts using unique color compositions and rigid shapes. It was a conscious drive to create a composition and style I had never done before.
Yana is a steady anchor, but the canvas is a battleground for growth and progress. I hope this series serves as a mirror for your own drive, a visual reminder to never repeat yesterday, to test your limits, and to view personal resilience as an unstoppable, lifelong practice.

Title: Held between
This title resonates because it offers no final answer, it lives in the tension the painting carries.
To be held between is where most of life happens: not in extremes or certainty, but in the quiet, sometimes uncomfortable space in the middle. Between doubt and trust, striving and surrender, freedom and responsibility, love and obligation, who we are and who we hope to become.
Nothing in the painting stands alone, every element exists in relationship.
Its meaning suggests that purpose is not found at one end or the other, but in how we live within that tension. It is less about reaching perfect balance, and more about accepting that we are always within it, adjusting, choosing, holding on, and letting go.
