Performing a U-turn at a T-intersection in a residential area is one of the manoeuvres you may be asked to complete during your Queensland driving test. In this driving test tip, I explain the correct step-by-step technique used by driving examiners. Start with a MIS (Mirrors, Indicator, Shoulder Check) to the right to make sure no vehicle is attempting to overtake you. Then move towards the first corner while checking the road ahead, continue to the second corner with another observation, and complete the U-turn only when it is safe. Remember, when making a U-turn, you must give way to all other vehicles. Mastering this manoeuvre will help you drive safely, follow Australian road rules, and improve your chances of passing your QLD driving test.
