๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’™ Got an hour a week to spare? You could change a young personโ€™s life! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš—

We Need Volunteer Driver Mentors โ€“ Can You Help?

Path 2 Change is a not-for-profit organisation supporting vulnerable young people across the Hunter. We focus on breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing access to education, employment pathways, and wraparound support that empowers young people to create brighter futures.

One of the ways we do this is through our Pathway Wheels program, which helps young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness gain one of the most valuable tools for independenceโ€”a driverโ€™s licence.

For many, learning to drive is more than just getting from A to B. It means:

โœ”๏ธ Greater independence
โœ”๏ธ Access to education and employment opportunities
โœ”๏ธ A chance to build confidence and stability

But unlike most of us, many of the young people we work with donโ€™t have family or community support to help them log the 120 driving hours required. Thatโ€™s where volunteer mentors step in.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you can spare as little as one hour a week, you can make a life-changing difference. We are especially in need of mentors who are available Monday to Friday during the day, or in the evenings to help young people complete their hours (including much-needed night driving).

Hereโ€™s an NBN News story about the program and the difference itโ€™s making:

๐Ÿ’™ A Big Thank You to Tara and Her Girls ๐Ÿ’™

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara, who recently came in with her two young girls to donate a beautiful selection of clothing for our young people to use for interviews and other important opportunities.

It was especially special to see Tara sharing the importance of giving back with her children and showing them how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in their local community. Donations like these help our young people feel confident, supported, and prepared as they step into interviews and new opportunities.

Thank you, Tara, for your generosity and for helping to pass on the value of community, empathy, and giving back ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’™ Do You Remember Andrew? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš—

Andrew was featured in NBN News coverage of Pathway Wheels earlier this year.

If you missed it, you can watch it here:

Today, weโ€™re so excited to share the next chapter of his story. Andrew has officially passed his Pโ€™s test! ๐ŸŽ‰

This feels like such a full-circle moment for Pathway Wheels. Andrew was one of the very first young people to come on board when the program began, and to now see him reach this milestone is incredibly special for all of us.

With four young children and a fifth on the way, being able to hop in the car and travel when he needs to is truly life changing. From getting to appointments, to accessing work opportunities, this licence opens up a whole new world of possibilities for Andrew and his family.

When Andrew first joined Pathway Wheels, he had just 8 driving hours under his belt. Even after moving further away and juggling some tight scheduling constraints, he still showed up week after week, putting in the effort whenever he could. Yesterday, he passed his test on his first attempt and with flying colours.

Itโ€™s a huge moment for Andrew, and honestly, a pretty big one for us too. We are so proud to have been part of his journey and to support him in achieving this incredible goal. Andrew, we cannot wait to see you go from strength to strength and smash every goal that comes your way. This is only the beginning. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒฟโœจ Making Time for Team Wellbeing โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

Recently, our team at Path 2 Change enjoyed a wellbeing day out in beautiful Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley and what a day it was!

We kicked things off with axe throwing and laser clay shooting at the Hunter Adventure Centre, then wrapped things up with a bite to eat at 4 Pines at the Farm on the same site.

There were plenty of laughs, some fun banter, and more than a few playful bragging rights up for grabs along the way. These days give us the chance to relax, connect, and enjoy each otherโ€™s company outside of our usual roles.

We feel incredibly lucky to work at Path 2 Change, an organisation that truly values wellbeing and makes space for moments like this to build strong teams, meaningful connections, and a positive workplace culture. ๐Ÿ’™
